The Turkish defence industry is using artificial intelligence to improve the target identification and elimination capabilities of its missiles with previously unheard-of precision as the technology transforms the global defence industry.
During a talent summit at Istanbul's Boğaziçi University’s Albert Long Hall, Murat Ikinci, CEO of Turkish defence firm Roketsan, highlited the profound impact of AI on military technologies, Ikinci also added that AI makes missiles smarter by improving their ability to lock onto targets and neutralize specific targets posing a direct threat.
Roketsan is Turkey's third-largest Research and Development agency which employs nearly 7,000 people to develop technologies that other countries do not share openly. According to Ikinci, Turkey's defence business is strongly technology-driven, with a staff that "brings together all of the engineering disciplines one can think of". Furthermore, Roketsan experienced a spectacular 50% gain in U.S. currency terms, as well as a global export volume increase of more than 55%.
Numerous industries are significantly transforming with artificial intelligence, and it is positively impacting the defence industry as well. AI is attempting to make the Turkish missiles more intelligent so they can destroy only the elements that pose a threat and to make it possible for them to follow their targets more precisely.
Basic sciences like chemistry and physics supports Turkish defence and they believe that, when the most successful individuals in various sectors work together, one can acquire the technology required to bring a missile to life. As one of NATO's biggest defence allies, Turkey's advanced technology goods have become highly sought after by European and worldwide partners.
