The aircraft ambulance headed to Delhi with a patient got crashed near Simaria in Jharkhand, killing all seven on board.

Sanjay Kumar, a 41 year old hotel owner from Chandwa in Latehar district, suffered 65 percent burn injuries following a short circuit at his hotel last Monday and was admitted to Hospital in Ranchi. As his condition remained critical, his family borrowed Rs 8 lakh from relatives to arrange an air ambulance to shift him for advanced treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.

According to Chatra Deputy Commissioner Keerthishree G, on February 23, Monday at 7:11 p.m., the Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd aircraft departed Ranchi airport. The jet crashed in the heavily forested Bariatu Panchayat area of Simaria after going missing around 7:30 p.m.

The Deputy Commissioner told the reporters that the air ambulance was crashed due to a thunderstorm and all seven on board the air ambulance were killed in the crash. The plane was on the way to Delhi from Ranchi. Unfortunately, the medical team discovered them dead. There are seven individuals in total. Five of them were a patient and the patient's relatives, and two were crew members.

The victims have been identified as Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat, Captain Savrajdeep Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Dr Vikas Kumar Gupta, Sachin Kumar Mishra, Archana Devi and Dhuru Kumar.

A family member of the patient stated that they picked an air ambulance since his condition was too bad to travel by road. Vijay Kumar, a relative, stated that the doctor told them that the patient might not survive a road trip.

Vinod Kumar, director of Ranchi Airport stated that the plane lost communication with air traffic control about 20 minutes after departure. He underlined that although inclement weather may have had a role in the accident, a thorough investigation is necessary to determine the exact cause.
