Microsoft Fixes Windows 11 Bug !

Microsoft releases an urgent fix for Windows 11 shutdown failures and Remote Desktop login issues after its January 2026 security update caused widespread disruptions. However, Outlook crashes are still unresolved.

To fix problems brought on by its January 2026 security patch, which caused vulnerabilities, including stopping systems from shutting down, Microsoft has published an emergency upgrade. There were at least three significant problems, including the shutdown issue, which was apparently fairly uncommon, according to a Windows Latest report. Outlook freezing and remote access failure, on the other hand, are frequent problems.

Microsoft has formally acknowledged at least three issues thus far, according to Windows Latest. A problem that causes Remote Desktop Connections to fail was resolved today. An issue that prevented Windows 11 23H2 from shutting down was resolved today. Outlook Classic crashes due to a bug (not resolved).

Also, it stated that Microsoft has already fixed at least two bugs: a major remote desktop login issue that has plagued Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, as well as the shutdown failure on PCs running Windows 11 23H2.

Microsoft reported that certain customers encountered sign-in issues during Remote Desktop connections following the installation of the January 2026 Windows security update. This problem impacted the Windows App and other Remote Desktop programs' authentication processes.

Microsoft explains that some PCs with Secure Launch are unable to shut down or enter hibernation after installing the January 13, 2026, Windows security update. This problem is exclusive to the older 23H2 version of Windows 11. Rather, the gadget resets. However, it has been resolved.

Outlook crashes when a user utilizes POP accounts, an issue that hasn't been fixed yet. According to Windows Latest, Microsoft has not acknowledged three unpatched bugs. It reported a problem where the desktop background is reset to black, and a black screen lasts for a few seconds or minutes before the cursor reappears.
