4iG SDT has signed an exclusive commercial cooperation agreement with Tatra Trucks which grants the Hungarian company sole representation and sales rights in Hungary for Tatra’s military and special-purpose vehicles.
4iG Space and Defense Technologies Ltd. (4iG SDT) has signed an exclusive agreement with Tatra Trucks, opening a new chapter in the companies’ cooperation and laying the groundwork for the development of a long-term strategic partnership, under this commercial agreement, 4iG SDT gains the sole right to represent Tatra Trucks in Hungary and to sell its military and special vehicles.
The partnership's goal is to bring Tatra's heavy-duty vehicle platforms, which are renowned for their off-road capabilities to the Hungarian market in a formal commercial and professional setting, mainly for security, national defense, and other specific state needs.
According to 4iG SDT, the agreement opens the door to more extensive industrial cooperation in Hungary in addition to commercial representation. Opportunities for local component manufacturing, complete vehicle production and assembly, lifecycle support solutions, and maintenance services will be examined by the parties. These operations may depend on the production capabilities of Rába Jármõipari, a prominent Hungarian automotive group headquartered in Győr, Hungary. If closing conditions are met, it is expected to become the majority owner of 4iG SDT in early January 2026.
Tatra is 65 per cent owned by Czechoslovak Group (CSG), one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most significant and dynamically growing private defence-industrial and industrial-technology groups. CSG is a significant participant in land systems, ammunition production, vehicle manufacturing, and specialized defense solutions, and it runs manufacturing and development facilities in over ten countries.
The exclusive partnership aligns with the long-term strategy of 4iG SDT and the larger 4iG Group, which aims to strengthen Hungary's position in the regional defense-industrial value chain while aiming to bring modern, NATO-compatible defense solutions to the domestic market through collaboration with international technology partners.
The collaboration is also a major initiative in 4iG SDT's land systems division, assisting in the creation of a broad defense sector portfolio that includes space, air, and ground capabilities.
