Businesses in a variety of industries can now deploy, manage, and scale connected devices globally with improved security and remote provisioning thanks to Ooredoo Qatar's introduction of a GSMA-compliant eSIM IoT platform.
Ooredoo Qatar has introduced a new eSIM solution for IoT devices, which it claims can help businesses scale IoT operations internationally, improve security, and streamline device management. With QR code-based activation and remote provisioning, the eSIM solution offers a versatile substitute for conventional SIM cards. Physical SIM swaps are no longer necessary, allowing for quicker deployment, more efficient lifecycle management of connected devices, and long-term cost savings.
According to Ooredoo, the solution is intended for large-scale industrial IoT applications in industries such as manufacturing, utilities, smart cities, transportation and logistics, healthcare, and oil and gas. Strong security measures in line with GSMA standards are also promised.
Also, the telco stated that the eSIM solution can support dynamic, high-mobility environments with global scalability, allowing devices to use Ooredoo's wide global roaming coverage to access and switch between multiple networks internationally.
Ooredoo also offers a centralized platform for the service that lets companies manage subscriptions, keep an eye on usage, and maximize performance throughout their whole network.
According to Thani Ali Al-Malki, chief business officer of Ooredoo Qatar, the eSIM IoT solution will satisfy rising demand from sectors that are progressively implementing IoT technologies to increase productivity and digital transformation.
He also said that whether they operate locally or internationally, companies can extend their IoT activities with more control and confidence, lower complexity, and enhanced security with their eSIM solution.
