ALTAIR io 6 Gas Detector Launch

MSA Safety Reveals ALTAIR io 6 Multigas Detector in Europe, Advancing Connected Worker Safety and Industrial Monitoring Solutions.

MSA Safety, a worldwide firm, has launched a detection solution, the ALTAIR io 6 Multigas Detector. It will debut in Europe during the 2025 A+A International Trade Fair & Congress (A+A) in Düsseldorf, Germany. The solution will be the latest update to the MSA Connected Work Platform.

According to the firm, the six-gas detector was created especially for applications with limited area monitoring and sampling. It is the first cellular-connected gas detector from MSA with an integrated pump. It uses MSA's XCell sensors, has a big, highly visible screen, has a separate external battery that can be recharged, and is compact enough for wearable technology or pocket use.

On the MSA Connected Work Platform, the ALTAIR io 6 Multigas Detector will be linked with the ALTAIR io 4 Gas Detection Wearable. The ALTAIR io 6 is designed for sample areas on construction sites or in advance of confined space entry, whereas the ALTAIR io 4 is mostly used as a personal, continuous monitoring device.

In many different industries, like manufacturing, utilities, oil and gas, and construction, both devices are extensively used. Both detectors are similar in that they use MSA Grid software and have a simple user interface. In early 2026, orders for the ALTAIR Io 6 will be accepted.

According to Dave Howells, President of MSA International, their aim is to help keep workers safe by developing innovative safety solutions so their customers can enhance protection, legality, and productivity. They will provide A+A guests a hands-on opportunity to learn more about how MSA uses technology and data to make it easier for workers to have the optimal solution for their job industrial safety solutions.

The firm will have the ULTIMA X5000 Gas Monitor and the FL500-H2 UV/IR Flame Detector for Hydrogen, which helps prevent fires in structures and enables quicker response times to alarms with more trustworthy protection. This device is perfect for detecting oxygen, hazardous, and combustible gases because it has dual sensor technology and Bluetooth wireless connectivity for remote monitoring.
