India and France partner up to develop defense solutions, exchange technology, and strengthen security for upcoming risks.

The French Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) and the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) signed a technical agreement on Thursday with the goal of using their combined resources and expertise to create new solutions for upcoming defense challenges.

The agreement to strengthen partnership in defense research and development was signed at the DRDO Bhawan here by Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defense R&D and Chairman of DRDO, and Lt. Gen. Gael Diaz de Tuesta, National Armaments Director of DGA, France.

According to a statement from the defense ministry, it provides a formal framework for supportive research and training programs, testing activities, information sharing, and the planning of workshops and seminars to improve the abilities and knowledge in defense research and improvement.

Both nations will be able to transfer technology, equipment, and expertise under the terms of the agreement. Aeronautical platforms, unmanned vehicles, advanced material for defense applications, cybersecurity, AI space, tracking, modern propulsion, advanced sensors, quantum technologies, underwater technologies, and other areas of shared interest are among the important areas of partnership defined in this agreement.

The goal of this strategic partnership is to use the combined resources and experience of both countries to create new solutions for upcoming defense issues. Both parties expressed confidence that this partnership will greatly advance both national security and international defense technology.
