To improve the speed, security, and transparency of India's tax system, Tata Communications will create and oversee a national digital framework for the recently established GST Appellate Tribunal.

Tata Communications Ltd announced it has received a significant project to provide a complete GST digital framework for the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT), a newly formed entity under the Ministry of Finance.

As per the filing, the firm plans to implement a cohesive “digital fabric of solutions” encompassing network fabric, IoT, cloud, security, and unified management for GSTAT benches throughout India. The coverage includes LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, video conferencing, cloud services, and enhanced security systems.

The initiative aims to speed up tribunal processes, improve transparency, and boost efficiency by utilizing predictive analytics and chatbots. It will also guarantee secure data transmission, smooth nationwide accessibility, and an easier user experience for taxpayers.

Sumeet Walia, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, expressed that they are privileged to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance and have the responsibility of constructing and overseeing the digital infrastructure for GSTAT, a transformative entity in India’s tax system. This partnership emphasizes their dedication to enhancing India’s digital governance framework.
