After a brief bidding war, Barbara Corcoran sells her penthouse in New York City for more than $12 million.
Barbara Corcoran found a buyer for her penthouse in New York City in less than twenty-four hours. Within 24 hours of listing her Fifth Avenue condo, the Shark Tank investor reportedly sold it. After ten years, 76-year-old Barbara Corcoran listed her penthouse in New York City for sale. According to The New York Post, the duplex with a view of Central Park was purchased in a bidding war, with the final price surpassing her original $12 million request. The precise amount it brought in has not yet been made public.
When Barbara Corcoran was a letter-delivery worker in 1992, she first saw her opulent home. She was laboring to make ends meet at the time, not realizing that her real estate company, Corcoran Realty, would eventually bring her millions of dollars.
For years, Corcoran maintained her ambition of purchasing the penthouse, claiming she had never seen something as "beautiful" as it was. She eventually succeeded in purchasing the apartment in 2015.
Corcoran paid $10 million for the flat and then spent $2 million remodeling it. When she said she was listing the condo for sale, the Shark Tank investor provided a tour of it.
Five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a curving staircase, a library, and more are elements of the 4,600-square-foot residence. One of the penthouse's most notable features is the terrace, which is brimming with flowers and vegetation.
