Airtel's AI-IoT Cuts 15% Energy Costs for Indian Hospitality

Over 100 resorts benefit from a smart energy management system that lowers costs, increases efficiency and improves sustainability.

For a major Indian hotel chain, Airtel Business, the enterprise division of Bharti Airtel, has successfully implemented its AI-powered IoT Smart Energy Management solution, which has reduced energy costs by 15%, maintenance costs by 20% and operational productivity by 11%.

Airtel claims that a number of issues, including as poor maintenance, a decentralized view of energy assets, and blind spots in energy usage, made it difficult for the massive hotel company to effectively control energy use. The large hotel company, which operates more than 100 five-star resorts throughout India, looked to Airtel Business for a scalable and smart solution in response to growing energy costs, frequent equipment failures, and growing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) compliance requirements.

In order to monitor and control vital energy assets including solar panels, water meters, diesel generators, and HVAC systems, the deployment combined smart sensors, machine learning algorithms, and Airtel's M2M IoT 4G connection. Real-time energy usage visibility, predictive maintenance, and actionable insights to stop inefficiencies and lower carbon emissions were made possible by the cloud-based platform.

The initiative coincides with a recent Fortune Business Insights report that projects the global hotel energy management market will expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.3 percent from 2024 to 2032, driven by rising environmental regulations and rising demand from guests who care about sustainability.

Through a single, integrated dashboard, Airtel Business' AI-powered solution has assisted the hotel company in tracking carbon footprints, optimizing peak load management, monitoring interior air quality, and improving guest comfort.
