AI-assisted dubbing for a few movies and television series is now available on Prime Video, expanding access to international content in Latin American Spanish and English.

Although Prime Video is a one-stop entertainment destination with a huge library of films and television shows, users may not be able to watch material from other nations and regions due to language problems. Prime Video will start providing AI-assisted dubbing for licensed films and television shows that would not have been dubbed otherwise in order to reach even more users with its extensive streaming catalog.

No matter where they are produced, consumers are becoming more and more ready to watch television shows and films. Beginning today, 12 licensed films and television shows—including El Cid: La Leyenda, Mi Mamá Lora, and Long Lost—will first provide AI-assisted dubbing in English and Latin American Spanish.

According to Raf Soltanovich, vice president of technology at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video is committed to enhancing the user experience for its consumers through innovative and beneficial AI. Only titles without dubbing support may use AI-aided dubbing, and they are keen to find a fresh approach to making TV shows and films more approachable and entertaining.

Localization experts and AI work together to maintain quality control in this AI-assisted pilot program, which is a hybrid method for dubbing. When combined with the appropriate amount of human knowledge, AI-assisted procedures such as this one can allow localization for games that consumers would not otherwise be able to purchase.
