Onomondo Advances IoT with Unified Connectivity & Cloud

Onomondo’s leaders discuss IoT challenges, intelligent connectivity, and the company’s strategy to integrate hardware, cloud, and networks for scalable solutions.

Michael Karlsen, Co-Founder, of Onomondo, and the newly appointed CEO, Rasmus Jensen, bring insights on the IoT deployment challenges and the importance of fairly integrated hardware, connectivity, and cloud systems in the future.

As Karlsen explained, the IoT is fragmented, with connectivity considered an afterthought. Onomondo wants to mitigate these silos by presenting intelligent connectivity, enabling devices to communicate seamlessly across different networks and cloud environments. He also discussed how the expansion of IoT has moved from consumer applications to industrial digitization, pointing out that hardware constraints have made it difficult to scale.

Legacy systems integration is one of the many problems plaguing IoT. Onomondo markets itself as the "glue" between old and new systems, allowing for easy onboarding and future-proofing of devices. Karlsen believes that a connectivity platform should be built into the design of IoT from the outset to avoid security risks and inefficiencies.

The partnerships are expected to improve and build a coherent IoT ecosystem by collaborating with cloud providers, MNOs, and module manufacturers. By the collaboration of pragmatic ways of commercial growth with long-term vision, Jensen, the new CEO of the firm, hopes to scale the organization further.

Addressing issues of IoT security, Onomondo adheres to the shifting cloud security regulations. The company is focused into looking ways for addressing connectivity challenges, thus allowing mass adoption to globally, eventhough innovations like 5G and AI at the edge that define the IoT future.
