Today's workplaces have been revolutionized by artificial intelligence (AI), but according to recent research, adoption patterns are shifting even if ChatGPT is still the most widely used AI application worldwide. For instance, despite the hazards involved, US workers welcomed the AI chatbot. The rise of China's AI platform DeepSeek generated a lot of excitement, but new research indicates that its popularity is waning, leaving ChatGPT at the top.

From January 2023 to December 2024, 2,385 employees in 97 companies participated in a recent DeskTime research on AI adoption. With 75.9% of workplaces globally integrating ChatGPT into everyday operations, the data demonstrate the tool's dominance in office operations. According to surveyed workplaces, India has been the most enthusiastic user of ChatGPT, with an astounding 92% of workplaces actively utilizing the AI technology. The country's push for digitization and AI-based productivity is reflected in the high adoption rate.

Additionally, the DeskTime study found notable fluctuations in ChatGPT use in 2024. AI use dropped to 63% in January before increasing to 81% in October. These shifts suggest that adoption is impacted by shifting corporate strategies, seasonal labor patterns, or concerns about AI automation.

Furthermore, ChatGPT's use has been restricted or outright prohibited by organizations with stringent AI policies, such as Apple, Amazon, and Bank of America, which may cause adoption in particular industries to go more slowly.
