The top South Asian bookbinding producers, Ultimate Tech and Bindwel, recently revealed a new partnership that would allow automated book binding for the creation of digital books.
With equipment including signature gatherers, perfect binders, and precision three-knife trimmers, Bindwel's manufacturing factory in Bengaluru, India, creates state-of-the-art bookbinding machinery for all post-press needs, from small runs and books of one to mid-run numbers and long runs. Bindwel is leading the way in the development of superior bookbinding as India's digital book printing industry sees unheard-of expansion.
After its Insta Book-on-Demand (BOD) solution had its global premiere at drupa24 in Düsseldorf, the technology is currently being tested with top eCommerce BOD suppliers in India. Short-term solutions from Bindwel, such as the Freedom 2K and Trimit 30C SRT, are already well-known throughout the nation, particularly in light of the current boom in web-fed inkjet book printing.
To bridge the gap between prepress and finishing, Ultimate Tech will assist its devices in partnership with Bindwel. Ultimate Impostrip and Ultimate Bindery provide finishing automation. As the need for shorter runs and faster turnaround times grows, Impostrip offers dependable automation that is hands-free and lights-out. The creation of markings and the intelligence to dynamically put print parts on the sheet ideally and automatically is their responsibility, from imposition to full-form nesting, according to Julie Watson, CEO of Ultimate Tech.
A stand-alone software program called Ultimate Bindery was created to bridge the gap between prepress and finishing. All of the parameters required to automatically set up the finishing equipment may be completed by Ultimate Bindery. It makes it possible to produce variable-length goods in different numbers without the need for human make-ready.
