Oracle has unveiled the Oracle Exadata X11M, the latest edition of its Exadata platform. The model provides up to 55% faster AI linear searches, 2.2 times quicker analytic scan and 25% faster transaction processing, all at the same price as its predecessor.
The newest version is supposed to be 70 times faster and efficient compared to AWS and Azure, which is also paired with the multi-cloud. Exadata has reduced latency for OLTP database operations, completing jobs faster than AWS RDS and Azure SQL, which require around 1 millisecond compared to Exadata's 14 microseconds.
Oracle's multi-cloud approach enables them to integrate Exadata technology on mainstream cloud platforms while asserting improved performance, including AWS and Azure infrastructures. It tests these suppliers in their own ecosystems.
Exadata promises to handle transactions in microseconds and offers real-time analytics such as anti-money laundering checks, which must run concurrently with the transaction process.
The hitch with Exadata is that it only works with Oracle databases, such as Oracle Database 23ai. Customers are now experimenting with a variety of database solutions, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CockroachDB, and many others. With Postgre’s rising popularity, Oracle made some changes. Oracle Database does not natively support PostgreSQL, although it does provide a service called OCI Database with PostgreSQL. This service enables customers to utilize PostgreSQL on the Oracle Cloud, combining PostgreSQL features with Oracle's cloud benefits.
