Gabriel Jesus hat-trick, Arsenal Carabao Cup semifinals

Thanks to the Brazilian's hat-trick in the second half, Arsenal overcame a 1-0 deficit to secure their place in the EFL Cup semifinals.

On Wednesday night, Gabriel Jesus produced a fantastic hat-trick in the second half to give Arsenal a much-needed 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace and advance them to the Carabao Cup semifinals.

After two expensive Premier League draws, Mikel Arteta's team returned to winning ways thanks to three spectacular finishes from the Brazilian, who had only scored one goal this season before the match at the Emirates Stadium. However, the disorganized hosts couldn't have started worse, falling behind just four minutes as Jean-Philippe Mateta capitalized on a mistake by Jakub Kiwior before soaring ahead and defeating David Raya.

Arteta's heavily altered team had a terrible start, and they didn't really get going until Martin Odegaard was brought on at halftime. The Gunners captain then made a fantastic pass to set up Jesus for the equalizer. The Brazilian's second goal was then sent in by another replacement, Bukayo Saka, before Odegaard sent the striker clean to finish his hat-trick emphatically.

Eddie Nketiah, a former striker for Arsenal, then came off the bench to set up a nerve-wracking finish, but Arsenal held strong to secure their place in the semi-finals.
