Developers can create customized Linux distributions with Clea OS, which is highly customizable and built on the Yocto Project
SECO, a global leader in technological solutions for next-generation devices, has unveiled Clea OS, a new industrial-grade embedded Linux operating system. Clea OS, an important part of SECO's Clea software suite, gives developers the resources they need to create and implement IoT infrastructure more securely and efficiently. The system is compatible with nearly the whole SECO edge product line and supports both Arm® and x86 CPUs.
There are two versions of Clea OS available: a minimum version for safe updates and Docker operations, and a full version that includes tools for creating complex applications like HMI systems. With built- in features like cloud connectivity, remote monitoring, and secure over-the-air (OTA) updates, the OS makes the development and maintenance of IoT devices easier. Developers can create customized Linux distributions with Clea OS, which is highly customisable and built on the Yocto Project. More flexibility in IoT deployment is made possible through its support across a broad range of hardware platforms, such as NXP, Intel®, Qualcomm®, Mediatek, and Raspberry Pi.
Clea OS prioritizes security, providing long-term support and regular updates. Future plans aim for capabilities like software bill of materials (SBOM) generation and safe boot. SECO will present Clea OS and its IoT solutions from October 8–10 in Austin, Texas, at the Embedded World North America expo.
