A 10% increase in quality gap closing, a crucial indicator of network performance that might result in incentive payments of $1 million, has been attained by the accountable care organization.
The goal of Optimus Healthcare Partners' AI systems was to wow patients, gain a deeper understanding of them, increase adherence to treatment regimens, and motivate them to lead healthy lives. These difficulties brought to light the need for AI in the accountable care organizations of the Atlantic Health System.
Optimus Healthcare Partners ACO, a clinically integrated network affiliated with Atlantic Alliance, was established in 2012. Since then, it has made investments in several initiatives to "care better" for patients, including practice transformations, evidence-based protocols, care management structures, and measurement and incentive systems.
Payers were wanting connectivity to practice EHRs at the same time for the same reason. By using a data platform to link the various EHRs and surface insights straight into the clinical workflow, Optimus recognized it could enhance the care its doctors gave. It had to close this distance.
The objective of the AI technologies assessed by the ACOs of Atlantic Health System was to optimize clinical quality and coding procedures, facilitate sound clinical decision-making, and increase patient access and experience.
Optimus Healthcare Partners ACO aimed to automate repetitive tasks, lessen administrative responsibilities, and free up healthcare personnel to concentrate more on patient care through the integration of generative AI tools.
Acknowledging the difficulties in implementing AI, the plan called for determining the current problems that patients and doctors face, evaluating the degree to which they can adapt, and putting in place open and honest quality control procedures to foster confidence.
Four AI system suppliers are used by the Optimus ACO to address population health concerns. According to Barr, Optimus made an investment in the vendor Innovaccer to link the disjointed EHRs of independent affiliated physicians. This allowed for crucial data aggregation that enhances care quality and generates AI care insights.
The Atlantic Health System-aligned ACOs are utilizing AI algorithms in addition to Innovaccer to enhance evidence-based care adherence. They are also employing generative AI to create personalized narratives with patients, improving patient access and experience through round-the-clock access to a secure AI chatbot.
