In a poll titled "The State of Cloud Security Platforms and DevSecOps," Cisco and TechTarget's Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) collaborated to examine how businesses are handling security in cloud-native settings.

The results provide crucial information on the procedures that businesses need to follow in order to improve their cloud security.

The purpose of the survey was to gather information from IT, cybersecurity, and application development professionals about the state of cloud-native application development and security practices. It received input from more than one thousand industry participants in a range of sectors, giving a comprehensive picture of the difficulties they encounter and the tactics they use to safeguard their cloud infrastructure and apps. The information emphasizes how important it is for businesses to implement strong security protocols in an increasingly intricate cloud environment.

• Multicloud is the New Normal: To support their operations, the majority of organizations now use several cloud service providers (CSPs), with many using more than three CSPs to suit a range of business demands. It is anticipated that this trend will continue as more businesses use public, private, and hybrid clouds to meet industry regulations, meet their unique application needs, and conform to company preferences.
• Misconfigurations Pose Serious Risks: Organizations continue to face a great deal of difficulty as a result of misconfigurations, which has led to an increase in security incidents. Just 26% of organizations secure more than half of their cloud-native apps, despite 79% of them employing DevOps techniques. Unauthorized access, application outages, and vulnerabilities have been caused by this late security integration.
• Importance of Early Security Integration: A greater emphasis on security from the start is required because of the rise in security events caused by the failure to adopt security measures during the development process.
• Boosting the Adoption of DevSecOps: In order to address the security flaws found in their cloud apps, almost half of the organizations intend to improve their DevSecOps procedures over the next two years. They can enhance vulnerability management and incident response by integrating security tools.
• Demand for Efficient Remediation Tools: The need for effective remediation tools is evident as organizations indicate that assaults that happened between the time of initial detection and cleanup have had a negative impact on business. They are therefore looking for cutting-edge solutions to quicken threat identification and reaction, lessening the effect of attacks on their operations.
• Purchasing Cloud Security Solutions: According to the poll, there is broad agreement that within the next year, money must be spent on DevSecOps and cloud security platforms, which include products like entitlement management and cloud workload protection.
