Melita, a Maltese multi-play carrier, has purchased Crout, a technical consultancy and IoT connection company based in Germany for an undisclosed fee.
Melita stated in a formal statement that the acquisition is a component of their attempts to improve their IoT services. Through this acquisition, the melita.io portfolio of products, which includes roaming and a comprehensive IoT management platform, will be available to Crout's customer base.
Additionally, Melita's LoRaWAN-based network will help German customers by extending the capabilities of IoT applications, according to the business.
Crout was founded in 2013 and offers organizations its expertise in connecting device management, deployment, and simplification. Crout was upbeat about the purchase, seeing potential to use Melita's assets to improve services even more.
Melita emphasized the acquisition's strategic importance, pointing out the increased capabilities and solutions it offers to the company's IoT division. Additionally, the business emphasized the advantages—such as expanded connectivity options and better international coverage—for Crout's connectivity clients.
Melita participates actively in a number of industry associations, such as the LoRa Alliance and GSMA. According to Melita, the company became carbon neutral in 2022 and is still dedicated to sustainability initiatives that support international objectives and follow the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
