Microsoft has appointed Pavan Davuluri as the new head of Windows and Surface, following Panos Panay's departure to Amazon, dividing the divisions under two distinct leaders.
Pavan Davuluri has been named by Microsoft as its new head of Windows and Surface. Following the unexpected departure of Panos Panay to Amazon in the previous year, Microsoft divided the Windows and Surface divisions under two distinct leaders. Mikhail Parakhin headed a new team at that concentrated on Windows and web experiences, while Davuluri took over the work on Surface devices and silicon. Davuluri will now be in charge of both Windows and Surface because Parakhin has chosen to look into other opportunities.
An internal memo detailing the new Windows organization was obtained by the media from Rajesh Jha, Microsoft's head of experiences and devices. Microsoft is now reuniting its teams for devices and Windows. Rajesh Jha is the direct boss of Microsoft's Windows and Surface teams, which are currently led by Pavan Davuluri. After working for Microsoft for over 23 years, Davuluri was instrumental in the company's partnership with AMD and Qualcomm to create specialized Surface processors.
During a transition period, Mikhail Parakhin will now report to Kevin Scott; nonetheless, his future at Microsoft appears unknown, and it is probable that he will take up new duties outside of the organization. Prior to taking on the more general Windows engineering duties and Microsoft Edge modifications, Parakhin had been actively involved in Bing Chat.
