ChatGPT Enterprise promises "enterprise-grade security and privacy" along with the most powerful version of ChatGPT yet.
OpenAI announced Monday the release of a business-specific version of its buzzy ChatGPT platform, as an AI arms race rages on throughout corporate America. In a company blog post, OpenAI announced the new service, named "ChatGPT Enterprise," and stated that it will be offered for purchase to commercial clients on Monday. The new solution promises "enterprise-grade security and privacy" along with "the most powerful version of ChatGPT yet" for firms eager to get on board with generative AI.
ChatGPT Enterprise's early customers include financial startup Block, cosmetics behemoth Estee Lauder Companies, and professional services firm PwC. According to an analysis of accounts affiliated with corporate email domains, staff from more than 80% of Fortune 500 organizations have already began using ChatGPT since its public introduction late last year, according to OpenAI's widely anticipated statement.
In July, Microsoft announced Bing Chat Enterprise, a business-specific version of their AI-powered Bing tool, and guaranteed many of the same security guarantees that ChatGPT Enterprise is now claiming, specifically that customers' chat data will not be utilized to train AI models. Microsoft previously announced a multibillion-dollar investment in OpenAI. It is unclear how the competing new AI tools for business will wind up competing with one other.
