Sage launches HCM platform integrating HR and payroll with ERP systems, helping mid-market firms gain better workforce cost visibility and improve operational efficiency.

Sage has introduced a new human capital management solution aimed at mid-sized businesses in North America, marking a strong push into the mid-market HR technology space. The company announced Sage HCM platform from its base in Atlanta, positioning it as a cloud-based platform that connects HR, payroll, and workforce data directly with financial systems.

Built to integrate with Sage Intacct, Sage HCM is designed to give companies a clearer, real-time view of workforce costs. These costs are often one of the largest expenses for growing businesses, yet many still manage HR, payroll, and finance using separate systems. By bringing everything together, the platform aims to improve payroll accuracy, simplify operations, and support better workforce planning.

The launch also includes industry focused features such as Sage HCM for Construction. This version is tailored for project-based businesses, helping them connect labor data, payroll, and job costing in one system. It also supports complex requirements like union rules, certified payroll, and prevailing wage compliance, which are critical in the construction sector.

A key highlight of the new offering is the introduction of an AI-powered HCM Agent. This tool is designed to automate routine HR and payroll tasks such as payroll preparation, data validation, and compliance checks. Instead of replacing human oversight, the system flags potential issues and allows teams to focus on decision-making rather than manual data checks.

According to company leadership, the goal is to remove data silos and improve visibility. Jonathan Cowan, EVP of HCM at Sage, said that organizations need a unified view of workforce and financial data to make smarter decisions and operate with greater control.

The move reflects a broader shift in how mid-market companies approach workforce management. Many are now prioritizing better use of workforce data, especially as labor costs directly impact margins and project outcomes. Research shows that nearly 74% of organizations see improving workforce data for decision-making as a critical priority.

As Business Fortune observes this launch, Sage strengthens its position in the mid-market ERP and HCM space, as companies increasingly look for integrated, AI-driven systems to manage workforce costs and improve financial decision-making.
