Olectra Greentech Secures ₹1,800 Crore Electric Bus Contract from Telangana Government

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation signs electric bus deal with Olectra Greentech Limited to improve modern public transportation.

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has placed a significant order with Olectra Greentech Limited for 1,085 electric buses through Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY). Known for its composite insulators and electric buses, Olectra Greentech is a leader in India's electric mobility market. For intra-city operations throughout Telangana, the order consists of 60 AC 12-meter buses and 1,025 non-AC 12-meter buses.

Olectra Greentech Limited has obtained two Letters of Award (LOAs) from the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. The entire deal, which is structured according to a Gross Cost deal (GCC) / OPEX model for a period of 12 years, is valued at about ₹1,800.00 crore for Olectra. Ensuring transparency and compliance, EVEY will purchase these buses from Olectra, with deliveries planned to take place over a 20-month period.

This initiative strengthens the company's position as a significant player in India's rapidly expanding electric bus sector, as well as its experience with the OPEX model. The growth into supplying and operating a big fleet represents a strengthening of Olectra's service-based revenue streams beyond manufacturing.

This work is a part of TSRTC's overall plan to increase sustainable and clean energy public transportation, reduce carbon emissions, and modernize urban mobility in Telangana. This order strengthens Olectra Greentech's position in India's electric mobility sector while emphasizing TSRTC's dedication to environmentally friendly, modern public transportation solutions for Telangana residents.
