Chandrasekaran shared IHCL’s growth plans and praised Ratan Tata, while highlighting a strong future for India’s travel sector at the AGM.
N Chandrasekaran, the chairman of Tata Sons, expressed optimism at the AGM of IHCL, which is controlled by the Tata Group, on Monday that the future is "very strong and bright" because rising Indian consumption will fuel the expansion of the travel industry.
Speaking to shareholders of IHCL, the largest hospitality company in the nation, Chandrasekaran stated that the goal is to quadruple revenue to surpass ₹15,000 crore by 2030 and have a global presence of 700 hotels. In his opening remarks at the AGM, the chairman of Tata Sons paid respects to the victims of the tragic Air India jet tragedy and conveyed his profound sorrow over last October's death of Ratan Tata.
It is tragic when someone they know passes away, but it is inexplicable when so many deaths happen at once. They have their thoughts with them. Additionally, he would like to convey his profound sorrow for Ratan Tata's death in October 2024. His remarkable ideas and achievements shaped the Tata Group for many years. He was a close friend and the first person Chandrasekaran went to for advice.
According to the chairman of Tata Sons, India has shown remarkable resilience despite the major changes that have occurred since the COVID-19 epidemic, which caused supply chain disruptions and a downturn in the economy, particularly in developed nations. According to Chandrasekaran, the services industry in India has been expanding at a rate of just over 8% annually, and the number of foreign visitors to the country is gradually approaching 10 million.
