Business Fortune- Christian Horner Exits Red Bull, Mekies Named New CEO

Christian Horner departs Red Bull Racing; Laurent Mekies becomes the new CEO with Alan Permane’s promotion, marking a new chapter for Red Bull F1.

Red Bull Racing has been headed by Christian Horner for nearly twenty years, and is now leaving the position of CEO. Veteran of British motorsports was crucial in transforming Red Bull from a young Formula 1 team in 2005 to multiple world champions.

CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments of Red Bull, Oliver Mintzlaff, stated that Horner was known for his leadership qualities and commitment. According to Mintzlaff, "Horner's dedication and experience have led to Red Bull Racing establishing itself as one of the most effective teams in Formula 1."

Red Bull Racing has appointed Laurent Mekies as its new CEO. Mekies has recently collaborated with CEO Peter Bayer and sister team Racing Bulls. "It has been an amazing time assisting in developing Racing Bulls, and I believe this is the beginning of something truly special," stated Mekies, expressing his excitement for the new position.

Another change is that Racing Bulls' Racing Director, Alan Permane is promoted to Team Principal. Mekies termed Permane a perfect fit to guide the team forward and praised his knowledge and commitment. Permane conveyed appreciation for the opportunity to step into the new role and was excited about partnering with Laurent Mekies and Peter Bayer to improve the team. Permane stated, "This is something fresh, but I'm confident we will continue moving in the right direction with all the help around me." Red Bull's Formula 1 activities have begun on a fresh start through this reorganization, with the aim of continuing to perform well during the seasons to come.
