To exercise its authority and carry out its responsibilities, the body has been given the authority to create rules and regulations. The state government issued an ordinance in support of the Act that gave the powers.

The Gadchiroli area Mining Authority, established to establish the Maoist-affected Gadchiroli area as the nation's new steel center, has been granted legal protection by the government. All lawsuits, prosecutions, and other legal actions brought against the GDMA shall be avoided.

The goal of the state government is to make Gadchiroli the nation's next steel city. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis told the state assembly in December of last year that the area will get ₹50,000 crore in investments from the leading private steel companies, and that one business had already begun mining high-quality iron ore. Consequently, during the state cabinet meeting in the first week of April, a mining authority for the district was authorized.

The government has now made the further decision to pass legislation protecting GDMA. According to the state mining department's promulgated ordinance, which will become law by introducing a bill in the state legislature's upcoming monsoon session, no lawsuit, prosecution, or other legal action shall be brought against any member of the authority or executive committee established under this ordinance for anything done or any action taken in good faith under this ordinance.

The chief minister will lead the 16-member GDMA. In order to finalize the terms and circumstances of the tender and authorize the appointment of a mine developer-cum-operator for the operationalization of the mineral blocks, the ordinance has also permitted the creation of an executive committee, led by the chief secretary.

The executive committee, which consists of nine members, is also protected from legal action.
