Ewan Valentine spent £20,000 to buy a replacement for his stolen Honda Civic, only to discover it was the same car he had lost, revealing a professional cloning operation.
A man from the UK says he had to pay a huge amount to get his stolen car back. The Honda Civic Type R that Ewan Valentine of Solihull, West Midlands, was looking for was stolen from his driveway a few weeks ago. He found a fairly similar model after weighing his options, only to discover that it was the same car he had bought in 2016. According to a report, Valentine purchased the used Honda Civic for £20,000.
The 36-year-old said in an interview with the website that he was devastated by the loss of his car, which went missing on February 28. Since it was a midlife crisis car, you don't get many of those, he was adamant about getting it replaced before he had to buy a family car someday.
Valentine found his stolen car seventy miles from home. He also spotted another one, of the same year, color, and somewhat obnoxious exhaust, the very car in question. Valentine mentioned that he had bought this secondhand car from a reliable garage. Back at his home, he checked the specifications and found it was indeed his Honda Civic. His conviction was sealed when he found the old addresses of his parents and himself on the navigation system of the car.
