Yasmin Qureshi, the UK Trade Envoy to Egypt, met with Kamel Al-Wazir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industrial and Transport, to talk about strengthening industrial and transportation collaboration.
Al-Wazir underlined the longstanding relationship between Egypt and the UK and restated Egypt's resolve to further cooperation, especially in important industrial and transportation areas. He emphasized the UK's strategic partnership role and the need for further British investment in Egypt, especially in industries where the UK has a comparative advantage, such as engineering, food manufacturing, and medicines.
The Monorail project, which Al-Wazir referred to as one of Egypt's most important contemporary and ecologically friendly mass transit projects, was one of the transportation projects he inspected during the conference that involved British firms. In order to maintain the system, supply replacement components, and address any operational issues, he emphasized the necessity of ongoing British assistance.
British businesses that are already present in Egypt as well as those aiming to increase their footprint were discussed. They include Polar Hydro, which intends to build a waste recycling and energy conversion facility, and Blue Sky, which specializes in exporting processed fruit to the UK and Europe.
The minister reaffirmed that the Industry Ministry will promptly accept proposals from respectable British companies and keep a careful eye on their projects to guarantee a successful outcome. Additionally, he asked Qureshi to attend the opening of Allmed Medical's new plant in April and affirmed the company's growth, which will see it construct dialysis equipment and filters locally.
