A five-year partnership is established between India and Slovenia to improve scientific and technological cooperation, with a particular emphasis on sustainable innovation and hydrogen technology.
Here, Slovenian Minister Dr. Igor Papic and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh met to conclude the 2024–2029 Programme of Cooperation (PoC). Expanding collaborative research in transformational fields, such as sustainable innovation and hydrogen technologies, was a key focus of the gathering.
As they complete the five-year Programme of Cooperation (PoC), Dr. Singh stated that they are pleased to strengthen their relationship with Slovenia. This project will create networks between experts in both countries and open up research opportunities. This action marks the start of a bold new era of scientific cooperation between Slovenia and India. Dr. Singh emphasized the accomplishments of current partnerships, pointing out that more than 20 collaborative projects have already been carried out in domains including smart cities, artificial intelligence, health, and renewable energy.
The minister added that the new PoC will strengthen collaboration across new research areas and that this relationship has continuously produced significant outcomes. Dr. Papic celebrated the chance to collaborate closely on hydrogen technologies, a key area of priority for attaining global energy sustainability, alongside Slovenian Ambassador Mateja Vodeb Ghosh and Economic Counselor Tea Pirih.
With initiatives like the Joint Working Group on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, the 1995 agreement that established the India-Slovenia alliance has expanded. According to the administration, the new PoC will open the door for more cooperative breakthroughs as both nations get ready for a joint committee conference in Slovenia early next year.
In order to spur creativity and strengthen scholarly and business ties between the two countries, they also talked about preparations for a new joint request for research projects that would concentrate on topics that both parties have agreed upon. According to the government, India and Slovenia are now ready to establish a standard for international collaboration in research and technology, advancing important areas of global development.
