A single electric motor in the Intium concept, the first glimpse at the next Hyundai Nexo, can produce up to 201 horsepower, which is 40 horsepower higher than the previous Nexo's. The automaker wants to be able to go over 646 kilometers between fill-ups.
Hyundai has introduced the Initium concept, a hydrogen fuel cell SUV that is almost certain to use the next-generation Nexo's technology and design. With a new powertrain that is reportedly far more performant than the one found in the current Nexo, it is meant to show the brand's dedication to hydrogen power. It is said to offer a smoother ride at highway speeds because of its single electric engine, which can produce up to 201 horsepower, 40 more than the departing vehicles.
Hyundai stated that it aims to have a range of over 404 miles (646 kilometers) between fill-ups, which is comparable to the Nexo's official range of 414 miles/662 kilometers. Vehicle-to-load capability is another feature that allows the car's batteries to power external devices. In addition to the technological innovations, the Hyundai Initium presents a new design language called "Art of Steel."
It was created in response to the demand for Hydrogen SUVs from consumers and is seen to be "solid and safe." Hyundai will distinguish its hydrogen-powered vehicles from those with internal combustion engines and battery-electric drivetrains with the new plus-shaped front and rear daytime running lights.
Additionally, the Initium's roofline is much more rakish than that of Hyundai's other SUVs, suggesting that aerodynamics was given top priority during the design process. By next summer, Hyundai plans to unveil the Initium, a prototype of a production fuel cell vehicle. Given that its design closely resembles prototypes that have been seen testing on public roads around Europe; this is most likely the replacement for the present Nexo.
