If they don't like single-player games, gamers who were wanting to spend a night in front of their PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4 may be disappointed. On Monday night, there is a significant disruption on Sony's gaming network.
The official PSN Service Status page verifies that issues are present on the Web, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5, and other platforms. It's not working if it's a PlayStation. You may experience trouble launching games, apps, or network services when gaming, according to the most current update, which was posted at 9:21 PM ET. Our goal is to find a quick solution to the problem. I appreciate your patience.
When we tried to start a game, we got the error message "PS5 error Code WS-116522-7," and the Sony webpage that goes with it states that "The system software is the update failed."
While offline games appear to be functioning well, players are unable to log in, play multiplayer games, or play single-player games that require an internet connection and sign-in.
The cause of the problem is unknown, and there is no indication of when it might be resolved. Although the bug that was causing issues with the PS5 games' home screen artwork was only resolved a few hours ago, it doesn't look like this is related to it. We'll keep you updated as we learn more though.
