AI in telecom

In an unexpected fireside discussion, Jensen Huang and T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert discussed how their firms use AI to advance telecoms.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang made an unexpected visit at T-Mobile's Capital Markets Day and offered a daring outlook on the direction of the telecom industry.

In front of reporters, analysts, and investors during a fireside discussion with T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert, Huang declared, "We've fused signal processing and AI." He also said that the telecom sector will have a lot of new opportunities for growth as a result of this.

Huang's comments coincided with NVIDIA's launch of its innovative AI Aerial platform, which aims to transform wireless networks through the integration of AI with AI-RAN, or radio access networks.

The platform's goal is to maximize return on assets by optimizing network performance, efficiency, and new income opportunities, like artificial intelligence computing as a service, during periods in which network infrastructure is underutilized.

Huang underlined throughout the talk how AI will play a significant role in determining the direction of telecoms, emphasizing in particular how AI-RAN will optimize and scale network performance.

According to Huang, businesses may deploy AI models to maximize signal quality across a variety of situations by combining radio computing and AI computing into a single architecture.

Speaking at the conference, he underlined that this merger will increase network efficiency and new growth prospects for the telecom sector. Huang added that thousands of virtual towns might be taught to maximize signal quality using these AI models.

Telecommunications providers may unleash new revenue streams and provide superior experiences through generative AI, robotics, and autonomous technologies. AI-RAN is in line with NVIDIA's larger aim to integrate AI into network infrastructure.

Huang's comments coincided with NVIDIA's launch of its innovative AI Aerial system, which aims to transform wireless networks through the integration of AI with AI-RAN, or radio access networks.

With NVIDIA AI Aerial being able to serve an expanding network of partners, this partnership represents a significant step forward for the telecom sector's AI-powered future.
