Remedy Says Alan Wake 2 PS5 Pro Upgrades Going to be a ‘Pleasant Surprise’

A developer at Remedy Entertainment, which is behind Alan Wake 2, described the game's graphical and performance boosts on the new PlayStation 5 Pro as a "pleasant surprise."

Following Sony's announcement of the PS5 Pro, discussion has ramped up as more details come out about how various games will perform, including Alan Wake 2.

It's been almost fifteen years since the first game, and Alan Wake 2 PS5 wowed players & critics not just with its story but also with its visuals. It's one of the best games using Nvidia RTX tech, especially on PC where high-end hardware really shines. Even on less powerful systems like Xbox Series X and PS5, it still looked good. Though, some folks did mention performance issues.

Sony's PS5 Pro gaming aims to fix some of these problems for many games. For Alan Wake 2, there's been some buzz after early footage showed that it might be running at a lower resolution than expected. This made some people a bit upset.

Puha from Remedy responded to complaints regarding resolution, stating that "image quality" is the most important factor. He didn't confirm much else but promised more info about the PS5 Pro version in the coming weeks. He also said there'll be new assets showing off the PS5 Pro gaming upgrades. Puha believes this enhanced version will be a "pleasant surprise" for players wanting a better experience on consoles.

On the ResetEra thread, players reacted positively to Puha's remark, with some anticipating what the PS5 Pro's improvements to the forthcoming Alan Wake 2: Lake House DLC would hold.
