In the Bangladesh floods the death rates have been rising day by day due to the devastating effects of continuous rainfall, which have led to lots of diseases. Many have been lost in their homes and been in the streets.
Due to heavy rainfall over the past two weeks, it caused destruction and affected over 5 million people around the country, and around 11 districts have been flooded. Over 580,000 households remain stranded and are in desperate need of food, clean water, medication, and dry clothes. Over 500 medical teams have been arranged to provide medical services to people. Authorities are trying to prevent the spread of diseases, and they have been ensuring that everything has been provided to everyone.
The director general of health services said that more than 5000 people have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours due to several diseases like diarrhea, snake bites and skin infections. Tuesday's intense rains in the capital Dhaka inundated many areas, covering roads in knee-deep to waist-high water and creating severe traffic jams as cars waded through the flooded streets.
More than 282 million worth of crops have been damaged, affecting 1.4 million farmers, and research shows that around 3.5 million people in South Asian countries have been losing their lives due to devastated rain, and because of that, climatic change occurs.
