The Prime Video UI has been updated by Amazon and is now being rolled out globally. This will make it simpler for customers to discover which TV series and films are part of their subscription content.
Amazon has announced in a new blog post that the redesigned user interface will go live globally on July 23 and that all customers should expect to see the new UI in the upcoming weeks. When the update goes live, Prime Video customers will see a new navigation bar at the top of the screen, according to a comment from Amazon in the blog post. The new navigation bar has a special tab for Prime and other add-on memberships like Max and Paramount+, as seen in the GIF below.
Members will be able to view every film and television program that is part of their Prime Video membership by selecting the "Prime" option, which also makes it simpler to see which films and series are available for purchase or rental. What's more intriguing is that Amazon disclosed that the updated user interface will also employ generative AI to suggest new films or TV series to watch through a brand-new "Made for You" selection found in the Movies and TV Shows sections.
Prime Video's updated user interface was greatly needed. A prevalent grievance directed against the subscription service was its inability to clearly distinguish between content visibility that Prime Video users could access at no additional expense and content that they could either purchase or rent.
Similar to Netflix and Disney+, Prime Video is the latest in a long line of streaming services that have made changes to or tested new user interfaces. Regarding the former, it offered the most significant UI upgrade for the service in a decade while also streamlining the menus. Regarding the latter, early this year, Disney released an improved user interface (UI) for Disney+ that allowed customers who had a Hulu membership or were a part of the Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle to access Hulu content.
