ExxonMobil Intel next-gen data center cooling solution

With the introduction of immersion cooling systems and a novel tank design, Intel is potentially leading the way in data center cooling efficiency.

This tank is an example of a completely new system design concept that has effectively surpassed the existing restrictions on the efficiency of single-phase immersion cooling, which were previously set at 300–350 W for Xeon processors using fluids based on hydrocarbons. Chips that are more than 800W and possibly more than 1 kW can be cooled thanks to the improved tank design.

ExxonMobil's Data Center immersion fluids, in partnership with Intel, have been instrumental in helping the latter overcome technological obstacles and demonstrate the viability of using hydrocarbon-based single phase immersion cooling in future chip designs.

Based on tests conducted by top server provider H3C, the combination of Intel's novel tank design with ExxonMobil's immersion cooling fluid has proven to dramatically reduce energy consumption while significantly improving server performance and stability.

With this innovation, data center businesses may optimize physical space for server deployments with larger densities while simultaneously meeting targets for emission reduction and energy conservation. The vendors claim that because it can handle the requirements of both artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC), it is a top technology option for contemporary data center operators.

Shenzhen Eco-atlas Technology, the immersion cooling tank supplier, combined the abilities of all parties to offer comprehensive immersion cooling solutions, guaranteeing effective execution and dependable solution deployment.

This single-phase immersion cooled solution's development has been made possible in large part by the cross-value chain cooperation of the fluid, tank, and chip vendors.

This partnership has made it possible to develop and implement this cutting-edge cooling solution for the data center sector in an effective and timely manner.
