CloudBolt, StormForge enhance Kubernetes cost visibility, optimization for FinOps

CloudBolt Software has partnered with StormForge to integrate Kubernetes cost visibility and optimization into the FinOps ecosystem.

Yasmin Rajabi, vice president of product at StormForge, explained that Kubernetes users have not been able to optimize their cloud return on investment due to the lack of a comprehensive solution for informing, optimizing, and automating Kubernetes cost reporting. The CloudBolt Augmented FinOps platform and our ML-driven, automatic Kubernetes optimization will work together seamlessly to close that loop, the company added. 

In the IaaS layer, FinOps has significantly enhanced cost visibility and provided valuable optimization advice. However, it has not achieved the same level of success in Kubernetes environments. Companies say that without any monitoring, organizations are unaware of excessive cloud resource allocation and actual spending.

StormForge's machine learning capabilities have been integrated with CloudBolt's FinOps offerings to provide detailed cost visibility, allocation against performance metrics, and automated Kubernetes optimization.

Those who use the new collaborative solution stand to gain the following:

• Full shared cost distribution: To achieve non-contested attribution, CloudOps teams can collaborate with FinOps teams to enable showback/chargeback that precisely distributes costs based on actual container-level performance metrics. 
• Constant rightsizing: By continuously optimizing Kubernetes, practitioners will be able to significantly cut the lead time from insight to action. 
• Using Kubernetes clusters in cloud computing can improve ROI by enabling better cost visibility and optimization. This was not possible before as these aspects were separate from other cloud expenses.
