Two executives joined Mattel’s Board of Directors

Mattel has appointed Julius Genachowski and Dawn Ostroff to its Board of Directors, bringing a wealth of experience in media, entertainment, technology, and more.

With effect from February 5, 2024, Mattel, Inc. recently announced that Dawn Ostroff and Julius Genachowski have joined the company's board of directors. The new directors will support Mattel's ambition to grow its IP-driven toy business and expand its entertainment offering by bringing a wealth of combined experience in media, entertainment, and technology, as well as skills in finance, M&A, and government regulation.

Mr. Genachowski, a technology, media, and telecommunications expert, is joining Mattel. With expertise in cybersecurity, privacy, and internet and digital communications legislation, he has a global perspective. Genachowski has worked as a partner and managing director for ten years and is currently a senior advisor at Carlyle. He was the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US, overseeing the creation of the country's first national broadband plan and updating digital media and communications laws. He has served on the Mastercard board, Sonos board of directors, and the Sprint Board.

Ms. Ostroff, with over 30 years of experience in technology, media, entertainment, and advertising, brings a wealth of expertise to Mattel. She has held positions at Spotify, Condé Nast Entertainment, United Paramount Network, and CW Broadcasting. She is currently on Paramount Global's board of directors.
