Using the Unreal Editor in Fortnite, Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus founded Death Row Games, a studio aimed at assisting minority creators in creating and releasing content.
The father-son team's prior business partnerships are expanded upon by Death Row Games.
Snoop Dogg and Cordell Broadus have both done business in video games in the past, according to Afrotech. In Call of Duty, Snoop Dogg was a playable character, and Broadus oversaw creative direction for the cryptocurrency game Doge Dash. The two have also worked together on a number of tech projects, including the interactive dessert restaurant project with Food Fighters Universe and the NFT comic book SUPERCUZZ.
With Fortnite's tools, Death Row Games aims to provide marginalized producers with artistic autonomy. In an interview with Afrotech, Broadus stated that their goal was to invest in developing Death Row games, provide a haven for a variety of creators within the gaming industry, and participate in the story of what the next game should look like.
He continued by noting that instead of us just being the talent, we should "show representation of the culture in these sectors." In addition to sharing these narratives from a variety of creators and emphasizing the role of creatives in marginalized communities, they wanted to ensure that they were included in the decision-making process.
