The latest U.S. law firm to expand its offices to Miami is Dinsmore & Shohl, a Cincinnati-founded firm. The firm has a hired a new team in Miami that include six partners.

Dinsmore & Shohl, a Cincinnati-founded legal practice, is expanding throughout Florida and is now setting up shop in Miami.

This week, the firm announced that it had brought on board a group of business specialists from rival Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, as well as six partners and five associates stationed in Miami.

The most recent American legal practice to open in Miami is Dinsmore. Several other businesses have launched outposts in Miami since last year, including Cooley, which announced a new location earlier this month.

Dinsmore joined the Orlando legal scene in August when it merged with Mateer & Harbert, a local company. As a result, it acquired 19 attorneys and almost two dozen business experts. In 2020, the company added a Tampa office to its growing network of over 30 offices across the country.

Since assuming leadership of the company earlier this year, Lorentz stated in an interview that diversifying into the state has been a major objective. Dinsmore's Miami managing partner will be Seth Alhadeff, the co-managing partner of Lewis Brisbois' Miami office, which was created in Los Angeles. According to the firm, the Lewis Brisbois team handles a variety of legal cases, insurance-related matters, and construction and real estate issues.
