Kuwait’s Ministry of Education may continue online classes after Eid Al-Fitr if current conditions continue, ensuring student safety and uninterrupted learning across all schools.

The Ministry of Education in Kuwait declared that classes will resume online if the current situation continues following the Eid Al-Fitr holiday. This occurred during an expanded meeting presided over by Minister of Education Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai, which was attended by senior officials from the ministry's various departments and sectors. The purpose of the meeting was to review developments in the field of distance learning and to monitor the progress of the educational and administrative process in the current situation.

The ministry stated in a statement that the action is to monitor student attendance, involvement, and dedication to maintain quality standards while ensuring continuity of education within an organized framework. Due to regional security concerns during the current Ramadan period, the switch to distant learning was initially implemented on March 1, 2026, as a precaution.

In order to maintain academic standards under the current circumstances, Education Minister Al Tabtabaei emphasized the significance of regularly assessing educational outcomes and incorporating field feedback to improve learning mechanisms. Additionally, he encouraged for examination of educational data and fair decision-making that puts student safety first while maintaining academic development.

All classes will continue to be conducted through Microsoft Teams. The Ministry will strictly monitor student attendance, engagement, and commitment to maintain high academic standards. The instruction applies to all educational levels, including public, private, special, and religious schools.

The minister gave authorities instructions to improve technical preparedness for online education, including resolving Microsoft Teams-related problems and offering teachers and students prompt assistance. He also emphasized the necessity of strengthening safety precautions and emergency readiness through coordination with authorities and directed administrative departments to continue providing services while operating at reduced capacity in accordance with guidelines from the Civil Service Commission.
