Samsung’s new “zero-peeking” feature narrows screen visibility angles, helping users protect banking apps and private messages on the go.
Samsung has revealed that its Galaxy S26 will feature a new screen privacy feature that is intended to prevent people from viewing the phone screen while someone is using it by providing a “privacy display” mode. The “zero-peeking” mode will help solve a very common issue known as “shoulder surfing,” where people behind a user can easily view their phone in public places. The video ends by questioning whether any other phones will have a similar privacy feature demonstrating Samsung’s emphasis on their users’ privacy.
The privacy display feature will most likely use a combination of new display technology and electronic adjustments to narrow the viewing angles electronically instead of using a physical screen protector. Therefore, the phone will remain bright and clear to the user, while at the same time, it will be difficult to read from an angle (side-view) without dimming the entire screen. From early information, the privacy display feature will likely be very customizable, allowing the user to choose when to use the privacy feature or restrict specific applications and sensitive content.
Although Samsung has yet to clarify if the privacy display would be included in all S26 variants or only in the Ultra model, it is already beginning to stand out as one of the new lineup's most remarkable features. Prepayments for the Galaxy S26 series have already started and full details on the device and its privacy features will be revealed at the unpacked event next week.
Industry observers claim that this action sharpens the focus on daily security, particularly for users who frequently check banking apps or complex messages while commuting or in crowded public places.
