OQ Technology and Eseye announce partnership to deliver global, seamless 5G IoT connectivity.
UK-based IoT connectivity expert and satellite communications company OQ Technology and Eseye has announced a strategic alliance that will integrate satellite and terrestrial networks to enable seamless worldwide 5G connection for Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
By integrating Eseye's AnyNet Connectivity Hub with OQ Technology's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation, the partnership creates a single SIM solution that connects terrestrial and satellite networks. This makes it possible for IoT devices to stay connected consistently and dependably even in the most difficult and distant settings without access to terrestrial networks.
The collaboration is built upon the 3GPP Release 17 standard, which gives non-terrestrial networks (NTN) access to multi-radio access technology (multi-RAT). The technology is intended to give businesses operating on land, at sea, and in the air continuous 5G IoT connectivity by enabling autonomous roaming between cellular and satellite coverage.
OQ Technology's founder and CEO, Omar Qaise, stated that the deal advances the company's objective of expanding 5G IoT coverage globally. According to him, OQ Technology's vision of making 5G IoT fully global is further advanced by the partnership with Eseye. They enable seamless coverage everywhere on the planet, from remote deserts and offshore platforms to Polar regions, by integrating their 5G-ready LEO satellite constellation with Eseye's intelligent connectivity platform.
For IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications, OQ Technology's low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites operate in S-band spectrum and provide low-latency, high-reliability connectivity. Eseye's numerous terrestrial network relationships are enhanced by this satellite layer, which guarantees reliable, continuous data transfer across both infrastructures.
Esey’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Adam Hayes stated that the partnership is focused on simplifying global IoT deployments for customers. He also said that by combining satellite and terrestrial connectivity, they are removing the complexity and limitations of global IoT deployments. Their partnership ensures businesses can stay connected anywhere, unlocking new opportunities and accelerating innovation for their customers worldwide.
In industries where continuous data communication is essential for operational effectiveness and safety, such maritime, logistics, energy, mining, agriculture, and environmental monitoring, the integrated approach may present new options.
