Hitachi Invests $3M in AI Mining

The deal with Rithmik Solutions aims to use smart analytics to cut downtime, lower costs, and boost equipment reliability across global mining fleets.

Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd. has announced a USD 3 million strategic deal in Rithmik Solutions Ltd., a Canadian AI firm that focuses on innovative data analytics for mining equipment. The investment is intended to speed the creation of predictive insights that support mining operations in lowering operating expenses, decreasing downtime and improving equipment acts.

AI software developed by Rithmik Solutions transforms enormous volumes of intricate machine data into practical, actionable insights. Because of its platform, mining operators can spot early signs of equipment issues, allowing maintenance teams to intervene before a setback occurs. It is anticipated that the partnership will provide quantifiable advantages for mining operations using Hitachi equipment across the world.

The open platform strategy and sophisticated analytical capabilities of Rithmik Solutions, according to Simon Wilson, the CEO of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas, closely match Hitachi's durable goals. He pointed out that the partnership advances the company's objective of providing solutions that directly solve customer problems while improving operational effectiveness across mining fleets.

Hitachi's LANDCROS Connect Insight platform, which presently offers current monitoring and data analysis for mining equipment, is anticipated to be much improved by the AI technology. The platform will be able to fix the root causes of equipment problems and suggest analytical maintenance measures early by using Rithmik's AI models, enhancing capital health management and operational dependability.

During demonstration testing at an active mining site from August 2024 to July 2025, data from 40 dump trucks and six large hydraulic excavators were analyzed. The outcomes validated the system's capacity to precisely recognize anomalies in their early stages. LANDCROS Connect Insight will be able to suggest corrective steps based on these data allowing equipment to run at maximum efficiency and lowering unscheduled downtime and lifecycle expenses.

The deal comes after Hitachi Construction Machinery declared in April 2027 that it will switch to the LANDCROS brand. The new brand name highlights increased solution offerings outside machinery, but basic engineering and manufacturing activities will not change.
