Following high-level negotiations in Ashgabat, Belarus and Turkmenistan are working to strengthen their bilateral cooperation in the areas of agriculture, culture, and tourism.
According to Turkmen media, The Caspian Post reports that Stanislav Chepurnoy, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Belarus, met with top Turkmen government officials to discuss a number of cooperative projects.
Strengthening agricultural ties, including the possibility of a Turkmen delegation attending Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week and the 36th International Specialized Exhibition BELAGRO-2026, was the main topic of discussion during talks with Deputy Prime Minister for Agriculture Tangryguly Atahalliyev. Also, both parties reaffirmed their desire to increase collaboration between specialized agricultural research organizations, especially in the fields of veterinary science, seed production, and livestock farming – all of which are thought to be crucial for advancing food security and innovation.
Another objective was collaboration between tourism and culture. The topics of discussion in a different meeting with Bahar Seidova, Deputy Chairman of the Turkmenistan Cabinet of Ministers for Culture, Tourism, and Media, included planning exchange Days of Culture, collaborative exhibitions, and other cultural events. Resuming direct flights between Minsk and Ashgabat was also emphasized as a crucial step in fostering interpersonal relationships and bolstering the expansion of the tourism industry.
