As Sarandos spearheads one of the largest mergers in entertainment, the power couple's extravagant lifestyle is highlighted by their California mansions and collection of rare art.
One of the largest mergers in entertainment history was recently supported by Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix. The OTT behemoth, which plans to buy Warner Bros. Discovery for $82.7 billion, receives a hostile approach from modern Paramount Pictures. But Sarandos' standing as a millionaire and one of the highest-paid CEOs in the media sector has only been cemented by this power move.
Ted Sarandos, whose estimated net worth is $200 million, has a large amount of real estate in California, and his wife, Nicole Avant, possesses a valuable collection of both modern and historical art. Sarandos made between $50 and $62 million in salary and Netflix stock in 2023, which added to his wealth.
The main home of Ted Sarandos and Nicole Avant is a 1925 Hancock Park Mediterranean Revival estate. They bought it from Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas for $16 million. The 15,000-square-foot home has vaulted rooms with beautifully arched colonnades that are situated close to a private courtyard. The salon, known as the "Magic Room," features a coffee table made of primeval oak, Danish shearling chairs from the 1930s, and a curved sofa from the 19th century.
The estate combines hand-painted murals, a circular medieval-style window, a limestone fireplace, and rustic antique furnishings. White flowers adorn the well-kept boxwood grounds, and the dining room features original hand-painted ceilings and antique furniture.
Their 17-acre Montecito mansion, which they purchased from Ellen DeGeneres in 2018 for around $34 million, is another noteworthy asset that places them among A-list neighbors. They also possess a $30 million mini-compound in Encinal Bluffs, a prized coastal estate for the power couple, and sold a beach property in Malibu for around $14 million.
Filmmaker and former US Ambassador to the Bahamas Nicole Avant has hosted Grammy and Netflix Emmy nominees. With Vladimir Kagan swivel seats, a 1950s Pierre Chapo coffee table, Philip Arctander clam chairs, Pierre Jeanneret pieces, a vintage piano, a 1960s Illum Wikkelsø sofa, an 18th-century French table, and Federico Munari chairs, their Hancock Park home is a collector's paradise. Their most treasured item is a handwritten letter and photograph of Frederick Douglass from 1877.
