Defying expectations, Ashwin Kumar's mythological action epic surpasses its high-budget competitors to establish a new standard for Indian animation filmmaking.
Beyond expectations after its premiere, Ashwin Kumar's mythical animated action epic Mahavatar Narimsha has made a lasting impression on Indian film history. It has become the highest-grossing Indian animated film, earning over Rs 250 crore in 53 days, despite competition from big-budget movies. With Rs 187.53 crore, the Hindi version is the most popular and has made a substantial contribution to its success in other languages.
The Ashwin Kumar-directed mythological animated action epic Mahavatar Narimsha has left a lasting impression on Indian film history. Before its premiere, there wasn't much enthusiasm about the movie, but once they walked into theaters, they couldn't turn back. With every day that went by, the movie got stronger and stronger until it reached a significant milestone that all animation movies in the future would be measured against. On the 53rd day of its release, the movie has surpassed the Rs 250 crore milestone. The movie brought in an additional Rs 6 lakh on Monday, bringing its total earnings to Rs 250.01 crore. Released a week after Mohit Suri, Ahaan Panday, and Aneet Padda's Saiyaara, the movie has managed to hold its own against competition from films like Rajinikanth's Coolie, Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani, and Jr. NTR's War 2. It has even managed to hold its own against the money-spinner Lokah- Chapter 1- Chandra which is currently in its third week.
Over the course of the eighth weekend, the movie made Rs 11 lakh on its 50th day, increased by more than 100% on the 41st day to earn Rs 26 lakh, and then soared by more than 60% on the 52nd day to earn Rs 43 lakh, bringing the total to Rs 249.95 crore. Additionally, the movie crossed the Rs 250 crore milestone on Monday with a collection of Rs 6 lakh. The recreated tale of Lord Narsimha, Bhakt Prabhlad, and Hiranyakashyap is already India's highest-grossing animation, and it will become the first animation film to reach the Rs 250 crore milestone.
