In a stirring celebration of classical music, the Seoul Arts Center's 2025 Orchestra Festival brings together 18 leading orchestras and up-and-coming musicians.
This month, the Seoul Arts Center's Orchestra Festival and the Seoul Spring Festival of Chamber Music are two notable events that put classical music front and center in Seoul. The 20th anniversary of the Seoul Spring Festival of Chamber Music coincides with the gathering of 18 symphony orchestras from all around the nation for the Orchestra Festival.
In its 37th year, the Seoul Arts Center's Orchestra Festival provides a unique chance to see 18 orchestras from throughout the nation perform without ever leaving the city.
The Seoul Arts Center will host the 2025 edition, which has as its theme "The New Beginning," from April 1 to April 20. Notable Korean ensembles such as the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, and Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra will perform.
With conductors like David Yi (Gangnam Symphony Orchestra), Yoon Han-kyeol (Korean National Symphony Orchestra), Hong Seok-won (Busan Philharmonic Orchestra), Kim Sun-wook (Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra), Adrien Perruchon (Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra), and others, this year's festival features a new generation of musicians and presents a varied repertoire that combines classical and modern pieces.
Additionally, in partnership with the Korean National Symphony Orchestra, the festival offers young musicians educational opportunities through the Orchestra Festival Master Class.
