Amazon Launches Kuiper Satellites via ULA’s Atlas V Rocket

The Amazon Kuiper launch from Cape Canaveral may light up the skies from Florida to New York when ULA's powerful Atlas V rocket launches 27 satellites into orbit.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is moving forward with Project Kuiper, aimed to be a global satellite network project targeted to compete with SpaceX CEO and billionaire Elon Musk and Starlink satellites. The ULA Atlas V missile is the first to launch Amazon Project Kuiper manufacturing satellites. Some have called it "the Amazon rocket launches from Florida", or simply "Amazon rocket launch".

It is believed that the rocket, when it lifts off from Cape Canaveral, may be visible from Daytona Beach. Further, the people from New York or Indiana can see the Atlas V rocket light up the sky as United Launch Alliance launches it into orbit.

The first $10 billion 27-satellite broadband network will be launched into low-Earth orbit by the Atlas V. It is fitted with five side-mounted missile boosters, which is why it may be visible from Florida to New York.

ULA's Atlas V rocket will likely be detectable beyond Florida, depending on the weather and clouds. EDT, Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Cape Canaveral, Florida, will launch a two-hour Amazon rocket window. Weather conditions forced the cancellation of the first attempt on April 9, 2025.
